A designer was left bitterly disappointed after purchasing a template website building system.

Manager Wang, a peer in the web design industry and a fresh graduate, specializes in developing static websites for clients with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. As his client roster expanded rapidly, every customer required unique custom content, leaving him swamped with endless workloads.
Later, a friend recommended a template site builder, boasting that users could build all types of websites quickly and easily without any professional technical expertise. The pitch sounded incredibly appealing.
He went ahead and spent 2,000 yuan to purchase the system.
Yet when he got down to using it, he quickly realized the product fell far short of its marketing claims. While the system featured hundreds of templates to choose from, each design was overly simplistic with minimal customizable parameters. He was only able to adjust basic elements including fonts, colors and images.
Worse still, the platform had a clunky, unintuitive workflow. He had to spend extra time learning an entirely new operating framework to add pages, hyperlinks, navigation bars and other modules. Even with official tutorials and documentation, the whole process remained complicated and time-intensive.
In the end, it took him weeks just to launch a plain, generic website that failed to match the quality of his original hand-coded work. Frustration washed over him; he felt he had wasted both his money and valuable time.
He later came to a clear conclusion: a template website builder was never the ideal fix for his troubles. Today’s web design clients crave high levels of personalization and exclusive custom functions, which rigid pre-set templates simply cannot deliver. To meet client demands, he will need to master advanced programming languages and professional tools to build fully tailor-made websites from scratch.
